Technical notes
The camera feed is processed entirely on your device; the video stream is never sent to a server. This preserves privacy even in a store/warehouse setting and can work offline once the page has loaded.
Continuous scan mode is ideal for reading code after code; each new value is added to the history and repeats can optionally be filtered out. This is handy for fast stock counts and check-in/out flows.
Read performance depends on camera resolution, light and focus. The rear camera is usually sharper than the front one; low light makes focusing harder. Holding the code parallel to the frame and steady improves read speed.
An HTTPS connection and user permission are required for browser camera access. For static images use the image barcode reader and for documents use the PDF barcode reader.
